MOSCOW, September 5 (RIA Novosti) - Regulation of the situation in the self-proclaimed Transdniestr republic was discussed by senior diplomats in the Russian capital Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
Igor Savolsky, the ministry's envoy for CIS relations, met with Belgian Senator Pierre Chevalier, special envoy to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to outline measures being taken by Russia and Ukraine in the area, the statement said.
Russia, Ukraine and the OSCE are jointly working towards resuming and mediating the talks with Moldova and its turbulent region bordering on western Ukraine to provide peace and stability, the statement said.
