MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russian police have broken up a network for the wholesale trade of pirated discs at the Luzhniki market place in southwestern Moscow, the press service of the Interior Ministry's economic security department said Wednesday.
According to the source, police exposed a criminal group that had stored, packed and sold pirated CDs and DVDs. Police officers discovered and confiscated over 14,000 unlicensed copies.
"The seized batch contains many pirate copies of Russian movies," a spokesman said.
Besides, more than 4,000 discs with pornographic content were seized in storehouses.
"Moscow's video pirates not only sold counterfeit goods in Russia, but also in a number of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, including Georgia," the source said.
