GENEVA, September 7 (RIA Novosti, Yekaterina Andrianova) - Swiss authorities promised to heighten control over Russia's former nuclear power minister Yevgeny Adamov, currently in custody in Switzerland on U.S. fraud charges, after he gave an interview to a Russian radio station, a Swiss Justice Department official said Wednesday.
"Sanctions are out of the question. The point is that Adamov should more seriously observe regulations restricting his contacts to relatives and his Swiss lawyer only," Folco Galli said.
Adamov's attorney Stefan Wehrenberg refused to comment on the interview that Adamov gave on Tuesday to the radio station Ekho Moskvy.
Galli also confirmed that Adamov had not been granted permission to meet with Ekho Moskvy reporters either from the Swiss Justice Department or senior officials of the Bern jail where he is in custody. (more)
