KIEV, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - President Viktor Yushchenko has appointed Igor Dryzhchany the new head of the Ukrainian Security Services, the presidential press service told the news agency Ukraina-Novosti Thursday.
Dryzhchany served as the deputy chairman of the security services before the appointment.
Yushchenko accepted the resignation of the service's previous head, Oleksandr Turchynov, earlier Thursday.
