MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Audit Chamber head Sergei Stepashin and U.S. Ambassador to Russia William Burns discussed the cooperation of the two countries' audit bodies in the fight against money laundering and control over the spending of funds the U.S. allocates to dispose of chemical weapons stockpiles in Russia, the Audit Chamber said in a statement Thursday.
The newly appointed ambassador was informed about the role and place of the Audit Chamber in Russia's social and economic life, as well as about efforts to make the national economy and budget process more transparent.
