MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia have advanced into the final stage of the European Women's Basketball Championships, currently underway in Turkey.
The defending European champion beat Lithuania in a semifinal match Saturday, 65-50 (15-17, 16-14, 19-8, 15-11), with Russia's Tatyana Shegoleva earning her team 22 points.
The Russians will now contend for the Euro 2005 title in a match against the Czech, who have made it into the finals by knocking out Spain 76-66 (14-11, 17-14, 23-17, 22-24).
