KALININGRAD, September 13 (RIA Novosti-Northwest, Anatoly Nilov) - Poland is preparing for the opening of the largest checkpoint on the Russian-Polish border in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, the press service of the Polish Consulate General in the seaport city said Tuedsay.
"The new checkpoint, Grzechotki-Mamonovo-2, will open in the first half of 2006, where 250 border guards will be working for the Polish side," a spokesman for the consulate general said.
The source said the checkpoint would have a daily capacity of up to 5,000 cars, 300 buses, and more than 4,000 people. Two additional terminals will be built to allow up to 800 trucks to pass through customs and border control.
