VLADIKAVKAZ, September 13 (RIA Novosti) - North Ossetia's Supreme Court resumed hearings Tuesday after a 13-day recess in the case of Nurpashi Kulayev, the only surviving suspect in last year's Beslan school attack.
The court granted Prosecutor Taimuraz Chedzhemov petition to request notes from the North Ossetian antiterrorism commission's meeting, seven days before the tragedy, on Aug. 24, 2004.
"This is necessary to determine the extent of Kulayev's guilt and the conditions under which the terrorist act was carried out," Chedzhemov said.
He said the commission's session outlined a list of 120 newly accepted specialists in the fight against terrorism and asked the court to subpoena the list to establish their identity and role in the attack.
The court adjourned until Sept. 20.
As a result of the hostage crisis on Sept. 1, 2004 and the ensuing rescue operation, 331 people were killed, including 186 children. Authorities reported 918 rescued.
