BERLIN, September 13 (RIA Novosti) -- Russia's defense minister said Tuesday that Russian-Ukrainian relations would have to be revised if Ukraine joined NATO.
"Any sovereign country, including Ukraine, has the right to decide whether it should join NATO or not," said Sergei Ivanov, currently in Berlin for a session of Russia-NATO defense ministers. "However, Russia will have to revise relations with Ukraine and not necessarily in the area of security."
He said Russia would also reconsider its relations with Tbilisi if Georgia joined NATO.
