UN, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the international community to condemn any attempts "to play" with terrorists.
"Any attempts to connive at terror, playing with terrorists, using them for the sake of some political biases or aims, should be denounced," Putin said Wednesday at a UN Security Council session on countering terrorism.
The Russian leader said the fight against terrorism, racism, and ethnic and religious intolerance should be based on state resources, cooperation between civil society, mass media, and cultural institutions, and interfaith dialogue.
Putin said Russia backed the British resolution adopted by the Security Council that condemns acts instigating terrorism.
"I am convinced such actions should be recognized as criminal by all states without exception," the Russian president said, adding that all countries should unite "to fight this evil."
