PARIS, September 16 (RIA Novosti, Sergei Kuznetsov) - The draw for the 2006 Federation Cup ended on Paris' central court, Roland Garros, Friday. The Russian women's team will face the Belgians in the quarterfinals scheduled for April 22-23. The matches will be held in Belgium, and the hosting team will choose the court surface.
Belgium's leading players, Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin-Hardenne, have declined to play within their national team in previous years.
If the Russians defeat the Belgians, their next opponents will be the Germans or the Americans.
In other quarterfinal matches, the French team, the 2005 Fed Cup finalist, will play the Italian team, and the Austrians will meet the Spaniards.
