WASHINGTON, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - Iran should not become a nuclear power, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after the talks with his U.S. counterpart, George Bush, in Washington Friday. Putin arrived in Washington from New York where he attended the 60th session of the UN General Assembly. "We will always be against it," Putin said. "The Iranian president said during our talks that Iran did not strive for possessing nuclear weapons," he added. He warned against incautious actions against the Iranian nuclear program. "We do not want our incautious actions to lead to a North Korean scenario." Bush said he also supported the resolution of the Iranian nuclear problem by diplomatic means.
