GROZNY, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - Six people were killed in two attacks on policemen in Chechnya, the North Caucasus, the Chechen Interior Ministry said Saturday.
"Militants armed with assault-rifles and grenade-launchers attacked Chechen policemen and officers of the Anti-Terrorist Center from an ambush in a forest in the Vedensky district," a spokesman for the ministry said. "A policeman and three officers were killed."
He added that the attackers had also sustained losses.
The spokesman also said that "militants attacked a police car from a destroyed house in Grozny [the Chechen capital]" killing two policemen.
