NOVOSIBIRSK, September 17 (RIA Novosti, Maxim Koshmarchuk) - Divers made a vain attempt to examine the Nekrasov ship that sunk near the seaport of Dudinka, the north of West Siberia, a local official said. The divers saw nothing through portholes as the ship is full of boxes with fruit and vegetables, Vyacheslav Shchukin, the vice governor of the Taimyr autonomous district, said. He added that the divers would make another attempt when the ship was towed closer to the shore. Seventeen people were onboard the Nekrasov. Three crew members and four passengers were rescued. The body of one sailor was found while nine people are still missing. The Nekrasov cargo-and-passenger ship owned by a small Siberian firm sunk about 100 meters from the shore. Overloading and unprofessional acti ns of the crew are the two versions of the tragedy. The ship carried fruit and vegetables to Dudinka.
