BISHKEK, September 19 (RIA Novosti, Yulia Orlova) - The family lawyer of Former Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev plans to file an appeal against the Kyrgyz parliament's decision to strip Aidar Akayev, his son and a member of parliament, of immunity.
"We will appeal against this decision according to procedure," Maxim Maximovich said following the parliament's decision.
Maximovich said he would use all legal methods to defend his clients, including taking the case to international courts.
He said he doubted that Kyrgyz Prosecutor General Azimbek Beknazarov would be able to secure Aidar Akayev's extradition from Russia, where he is staying with his parents.
On Monday, a majority of the Kyrgyz parliament authorized the prosecution of Akayev's elder son and agreed to strip him of parliamentary immunity on the basis of prosecutors' evidence.
