VILNIUS, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Lithuania will ask NATO for assistance if it needs equipment to decipher the flight recorders of the Russian Su-27 Flanker fighter that crashed over Lithuania Sept. 15, a Lithuanian Defense Ministry spokeswoman said Monday.
She said the investigating commission would decide whether Lithuania would go to Russia for help.
Last week, a group of 12 Russian experts arrived in Lithuania to observe the investigation.
The Su-27's navigation equipment failed and the pilot bailed out, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
