MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian tennis player Yelena Dementyeva said Monday that the Federation Cup title was her most coveted trophy after returning from the tournament in Paris to Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport.
"When Russia won the title last year, I had ambiguous feelings. On the one hand, I was pleased with my friends' success, on the other hand, I had not reached the final, which is why I was looking forward to winning the cup myself and I am glad my teammates and I succeeded," she said.
Stressing that Russia owed its victory to all the girls on the team, she confessed she was still nervous.
"We felt as if we were on a swing during the final: sometimes we were at the point of winning, sometimes we had to start from scratch," she said.
