Russia ready to pay off all Paris Club debt early
Russia is ready to pay its entire $28 billion debt to the Paris Club of Creditor Nations early if the members agree to this move, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said Wednesday.
Speaking at an investment conference in Moscow, Kudrin said: "We would be prepared to pay back the entire sum, but other factors limit us."
Referring to the caps imposed by other countries on Russia's debt repayment, he said the decision was not only down to Russia.
The minister said a number of creditor nations wanted Russia to pay back its debt according to the established timetable. A few nations have released the sum of the debt as securities, which will mature at a set date.
