MOSCOW, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin praised humanitarian cooperation with Tajikistan during a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Thursday.
Putin said humanitarian cooperation ensured progress in political and economic relations and that the declaration and agreement on humanitarian cooperation signed by the CIS leaders "would boost public and business initiative and promote information, cultural and youth exchanges."
Speaking about the Tajik leader's policy, Putin said, "he managed to restore order and muster all resources for the country's development and build good and friendly relations with Russia."
The two leaders were attending the opening ceremony of Tajik Culture Days in the Russian capital.
