At least two Russian women players will drop out of Kremlin Cup in first round

MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti) - At least two Russian women players will drop out the Kremlin Cup in the first round, which opens on Monday.

After the drawing of lots in the women's category Saturday, Vera Dushevina, in her opening match, will play compatriot Yelena Likhovtseva, while Vera Zvonareva will meet with Maria Kirilienko, who received a wild card.

Dinara Safina will play Italian Silvia Farina Elia, Anna Chakvetadze will meet with Swiss Patty Schnyder (No. 5), while Anastasia Myskina will play Bulgarian Magdalena Maleeva, who also got a wild card.

Yevgenia Linetskaya (wild card) will face Czech Kveta Peschke. Eighth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova will play an adversary who will make it through the qualifying tournament this week-end.

Another two Russians - first seed Maria Sharapova and fourth seed Yelena Dementyeva - will miss the first round of the Kremlin Cup which will be held at Moscow's Olimpiysky sports complex.
