WASHINGTON, October 10 (RIA Novosti) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will start a visit to several Central Asian countries Monday.
According to State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, Rice will visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan October 10-13 to show U.S. support for political forces willing to carry out the necessary political and economic reforms in the region.
Rice will meet with Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov, and Afghan President Hamid Karzai to discuss a number of issues, including economic development, security, and democratic reforms in Central Asia.
