Davydenko loses his Kremlin Cup first round match

MOSCOW, October 12 (RIA Novosti) - The No. 1 seed in the Kremlin Cup men's singles, Russian Nikolai Davydenko, has been knocked out in the first round by unseeded Italian Daniele Bracciali.

Davydenko won the first set 6-3, but then lost two sets 6-4 6-4 to the Italian.

As second seed Slovak Dominik Hrbaty has also failed to reach the second round, Russian player Mikhail Yuzhny is now considered the tournament favorite. He will meet American Paul Goldstein in the second round.
