KIEV, October 13 (RIA Novosti) - High-quality toilet paper bearing effigies of high-profile Ukrainian politicians may soon hit the shelves in stores across the country, a leading newspaper in the capital city of Kiev reported Thursday.
Segodnya said a Ukrainian publishing house would launch the new product in mid-November, with a presentation ceremony on Kiev's central Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti), the crucible of the Orange Revolution.
Images of former Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko, former President Leonid Kuchma and other high-profile Ukrainian politicians will be printed with edible colorants on toilet paper produced in China. Ukrainian tissue, made from recycled cellulose, is considered too flimsy to be put through the printing press.
There has been no word, however, from customs officials on the import of the novelty product.
