MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - Alexei Miller, chief executive of Russian natural gas monopoly Gazprom, told President Vladimir Putin Friday that gas supply systems were fully prepared to face the winter season.
In a meeting with the president, Miller said set amounts of natural gas had been pumped into storage facilities and supply networks had been checked.
The CEO also said Gazprom had developed a three-year investment program for Russia's natural gas sector totaling $1.2 billion, including funds for the construction of 12,000 kilometers of new gas pipelines that could supply gas to an additional 11 million people. A sum of $175 million has already been allocated for the program this year, he added.
