MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a bill on the formation of a new federation member that includes the Krasnoyarsk territory and the Taimyr and Evenk autonomous districts, the Kremlin press service said Friday.
The State Duma and the Federation Council, parliament's lower and upper houses, approved the bill on September 22 and October 5, respectively.
The new federation member, the Krasnoyarsk territory, will be formed on January 1, 2007.
The law establishes the new federation member, including its status and borders.
The law also stipulates the order of drafting and adopting a budget and local self-governing issues, and outlines federal financial support for 2006-2008.
