"The presence of peacekeepers is a guarantee of peace in the conflict zone for ordinary people, regardless of their ethnicity," Murat Dzhioyev said commenting on a Georgian parliament resolution concerning the situation in Georgia's conflict zones.
"If the peacekeepers are not performing their functions as well as they might, this is probably because the Georgian side creates impediments to them, moreover, on a very high level," he added.
"Now that the Georgian parliament has passed a resolution demanding that effective measures be implemented to achieve real progress in fulfilling the peacekeepers mandate, let us hope that in future, Georgian government officials will not be obstructing the peacekeepers' effort," Dzhioyev said.
"We hope that the upcoming session of the Joint Control Commission will set the settlement process on a constructive course," said.
