URGENT: Russian-U.S. common goal is to prevent new nuclear powers - Putin, Rice

NOVO-OGARYOVO, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. State Secretary Condoleezza Rice confirmed Saturday that preventing the emerging of new nuclear powers was a key Russian-U.S. goal, the Russian foreign minister said. "A common goal, prevention of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and emerging of new nuclear powers in the world, was confirmed," Sergei Lavrov said.
