In September, industrial output grew 1.4% against the previous month's figure and by 5.2% year-on-year.
In the first nine months of 2005, the mining industry's production grew 1% and the manufacturing industries' output, 6.1% (last year's figures were 7.2% and 8.9%, respectively).
Electricity, natural gas, and water production grew 1.9% over the period.
Coal production grew 4% to 213 million tons in the nine-month period and crude oil output grew 2.1% to 349 million tons. Natural gas production, by contrast, decreased 0.1% to 465 billion cubic meters and the output of iron ore fell 3.9% to 69.9 million metric tons.
In January-September 2005, gasoline production grew 6.1% to 23.7 million tons and diesel fuel output rose 8.7% to 44.1 million tons. About 153 million tons of middle distillates was produced over the period - a 6% increase on last year's figure.
Meat production grew 1.4% to 1.3 million tons whereas the production of bread decreased 4.4% to 5.9 million tons and that of wine and liquors fell 7.1% to 87.6 million deciliters.
About 4.3 million television sets were manufactured in Russia over the period (a 37.6% increase year-on-year) whereas automobile production dropped 6.7% to 783,000 cars.
As for Russia's foreign trade, export surplus reached $80.1 billion in January-August 2005, having grown 48.9% year-on-year.
In the year's first nine months, Russia exported $155.4 billion worth of goods and services (a 37.9% year-on-year increase) and imported $75.3 billion worth (a 28% increase), the Statistics Service said, adding that the export structure remained almost unchanged from 2004.
Fuels accounted for 62.9% of aggregate exports (as compared with 57.5% last year) and metals and metal products accounted for 15.7% (against last year's 16.7%). Equipment and transportation vehicles accounted for 5.1% (7.8%); chemical industry products, 6.1% (6.6%); and forestry products, 3.6% (4.1%).
