"The court rejected our appeal against the Basmanny Court's decision," Ruslan Koblev, Naidenov's attorney, said by phone Monday.
On September 6, Moscow's Basmanny Court extended Naidenov's detention term until December 18, over objections by his lawyer that prosecutors had failed to substantiate this move and that the severity of the charges did not justify such a decision.
Naidenov, a former paratrooper, fellow serviceman Robert Yashin, and retired Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov were charged with several crimes, in particular, an attempt on the life of a state or public official and terrorism.
Chubais' motorcade came under attack in the Moscow region on March 17. First a roadside bomb exploded, and then the motorcade was sprayed with machine-gun fire. The UES CEO escaped unharmed.
