MOSCOW, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - Two people died in hospital Monday night from injuries sustained in last week's militant attack on the southern Russian city of Nalchik, bringing the number of civilian deaths to 11, a regional health ministry spokesperson said Tuesday.
As of 5:00 pm Moscow time (1:00 pm GMT), 44 people wounded in the attack remained hospitalized in Nalchik, most of them in a serious but stable condition, the spokesperson said.
Thirty-five security and police personnel were killed in Nalchik last Thursday when militants attacked several police and government buildings in the city, as well as the local airport. According to Russian officials, through the counter operation, which continued into Friday, 91 of the attackers were killed and 36 captured.
