TBILISI, October 18 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - Georgia's parliamentarians demanded the resignation of Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili Tuesday.
The committees on foreign relations and Euro-Atlantic integration raised the issue with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli.
"The committees assessed the work of the foreign minister and the ministry as a whole in implementing political decisions as unsatisfactory," foreign relations committee chairman Konstantin Gabashvili said after a joint session.
Gabashvili said all the deputies who attended the session voted unanimously to assign responsibility for the ministry's shortcomings to Zurabishvili.
Confrontation between the parliament and the Foreign Ministry began over ratification of the European convention on national minorities' rights, which deputies said had been postponed for too long because of the ministry.
