MOSCOW, October 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow District has upheld a decision by the Federal Tax Service on Wednesday to charge the Russian oil major Samaraneftegaz $311 million in back taxes for 2001.
The court rejected the company's appeal against tax claims.
The Federal Tax Service decided on November 26, 2004 to charge the oil major $159.4 million in back taxes, $89.8 million in penalties, and $63.6 million in fines.
