MOSCOW, October 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's GDP growth will exceed 6% in 2005, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said Thursday at a video conference for investors.
"GDP growth, according to Finance Ministry data, will confidently exceed 6% in 2005," he said.
Growth in the next three years will register at between 5.5 and 6.5%, he said, calling the rise a "strong positive tendency."
Kudrin also said foreign direct investment in the first nine months of 2005 was up 31% year-on-year, and that by the end of 2005, the ruble's yearly growth against world currencies would exceed 8%.
