BUENOS AIRES, October 22 (RIA Novosti, Yury Nikolayev) - The Russian-Argentine trade turnover has grown more than twofold in the nine months of 2005 to reach $615 million, the Russian ambassador said Saturday. Yury Korchagin called the rates of growth "extraordinary."
Russia is facing the task to balance the trade but not through reducing Argentine exports but through increasing Russian exports, that have reached only $57 million in the nine months of 2005, the ambassador said on the day of the 120th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.
"Argentines have a positive will for it, and they invite us to cooperate. So it is up to our businessmen and state organizations responsible for foreign economic sectors," Korchagin said.
