MOSCOW, October 23 (RIA Novosti) - A passenger plane crashed Saturday night in Nigeria and the Russian Embassy in that country is establishing whether there were Russian citizens on board, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
"We are establishing whether there were Russian citizens on board but there has been no official information so far," the source said.
The airplane of Bellview Airlines with more than a hundred passengers and six crewmembers on board disappeared from radars several minutes after it left Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria. A local Nigerian radio station reported that high-ranking officials were on board the airliner among the passengers.
