BISHKEK, October 24 (RIA Novosti) - Supporters of Kyrgyz parliamentarian Tynychbek Akmatbayev, who was killed October 20 by inmates of a maximum-security penal colony, are holding a protest in front of the Kyrgyz parliament building Monday.

About 500 protesters have set up camp, blocking all entrances to the building. They are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Felix Kulov and have threatened to stay until their demands have been satisfied.

Another protest rally will be held in the town of Osh in southern Kyrgyzstan.

Akhmatbayev and two aides were taken hostage and killed by prison inmates last week during an inspection of penal colony No. 31, located outside the capital.

The Kyrgyz parliament will apparently not hold an extraordinary session Monday to discuss Kulov's resignation because 17 members failed to appear for various reasons.

Kulov approved Monday the resignation of Deputy Interior Minister Alymbek Sultanov and ordered structural reorganization of the republic's law enforcement bodies in a move that may be related to Aktambayev's murder.
