MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti)-A Moscow court has sanctioned the arrest on fraud charges of the president of Renaissance Capital, one of Russia's leading investment banks, his lawyer said Friday.
Alexander Asnis, who is representing Oleg Kiselyov, said: "On Thursday, the court made a decision to take my client into custody."
But he said his client was currently overseas receiving treatment.
Asnis said on October 21 that his client had been charged in absentia with fraud relating to shares of the Mikhailov mining and ore processing company.
"Under the law, I have three days to lodge an appeal," the lawyer said. "I intend to exercise my legal right."
