BAKU, October 28 (RIA Novosti, Geray Dadashev) - Azerbaijan's parliament stripped Fikret Sadykhov, parliamentarian and former executive of state-owned chemical concern Azerkhimia, of his immunity Friday.
Speaking at the parliamentary meeting, first deputy prosecutor general Rustam Usubov said Sadykhov had conspired with Rasul Guliyev, a former chairman of parliament and leader of the republic's Democratic Party, former Finance Minister Fikret Yusifov, and other individuals to conduct a coup.
Following Guliyev's orders, Sadykhov spent $50,000 to organize public disturbances and provide certain groups with weapons in order to offer armed resistance to legitimate authorities.
Eighty-seven deputies voted in favor of the decision and three, against.
