MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - The defense of notary Fail Sadretdinov, who is charged with murdering the chief editor of the Russian edition of Forbes, appealed Friday the refusal of the Prosecutor General's Office to conduct psychiatric examination of their client.

"Sadretdinov is a disabled person. He is chronically ill, and has even had epileptic fits in court," lawyer Ruslan Koblev said.

Sadretdinov is accused of masterminding and committing the murder of Paul Khlebnikov who was killed in Moscow on July 9, 2004. Shortly before his death, Forbes published a list of Russia's wealthiest individuals. Investigators said the murder was financially motivated.

On June 6, the prosecutors pressed new charges against Sadretdinov, accusing him of organizing a criminal group.

The other two defendants, Musa Vakhayev and Kazbek Dukkuzov are also on trial for involvement in Khlebnikov's murder. Both of them were detained in Minsk on November 17 last year and then extradited to Russia. All the defendants will remain in custody until December 9.

Vakhayev and Dukkuzov finished studying the case files, their lawyer Ruslan Khasanov said Friday.

Another four suspects are still on the international wanted list.
