MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Finance Ministry has proposed that the VAT flat rate not be lowered any time soon, the deputy finance minister said Friday.
Sergei Shatalov said the ministry had prepared a report on the issue following Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov's instructions to consider reducing VAT from 18% to 13%.
In its report, the ministry said the current VAT rate should remain intact.
