VILNIUS, October 29 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Vodo) - Lithuania transferred to Russia the flight recorder and the pilot's personal gear and equipment, including the parachute, from the Russian fighter that had crashed in Lithuania in September, Lithuanian national radio reported Saturday. Earlier this week, Lithuania gave Russia the first part of the plane's wreckage, which was transported to the Kaliningrad region, Russia's exclave on the Baltic Sea, on October 26.
The fighter, flying from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad, crashed September 15 on Lithuanian territory after a navigation system failure. Pilot Valery Troyanov managed to eject safely and no one was hurt in the incident.
Lithuania estimated the damage inflicted by Russia at some 20,000 euros.
