MOSCOW, October 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russian tennis player Nadezhda Petrova beat Swiss player Patty Schnyder Sunday to win the Generali Ladies Linz tournament in Austria.
The 23-year-old, seeded third, beat fourth-seed Schnyder 4-6 6-3 6-1 in the players' seventh meeting to win her first WTA Tour singles title.
Petrova is currently 10th in the WTA rankings, and has won 11 doubles titles.
