KIEV, October 31 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has withdrawn his nomination of Vasiliy Prisyazhnyuk for the post of prosecutor general, Valeriy Pustovoytenko, a Ukrainian parliamentarian and former prime minister, said Monday.
"After Prisyazhnyuk's nomination was announced, someone called the speaker, who left but then returned and said the president had withdrawn the nomination of Prisyazhnyuk for the post of prosecutor general," he said.
Yushchenko's move came only hours after he had nominated Prisyazhnyuk, who currently serves as deputy prosecutor general of Kiev, the country's capital.
Pustovoytenko said the president would select a nominee Monday and "most likely it [would] be another person."
