"On November 2, at 15:48 Moscow time [11:48 GMT], one of the engines of an Aeroflot-Don-owned Tu-154 caught fire on a flight from Sochi to Moscow," the ministry said.

The pilot carried out an emergency landing at Rostov-on-Don airport at 16:06 Moscow time. None of the 69 passengers on board were injured.

An investigation into the incident is under way.
