MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow expects the program on the disposal of chemical weapons in Russia to meet its 2012 deadline if properly financed, the deputy head of the Russian Federal Industry Agency said Thursday. "The difficulty is that it is not clear in the long term what country will allocate certain funds for the program," Viktor Kholstov said at a news conference in Moscow. Kholstov said it was important that more funds assigned by foreign partners reach chemical weapons destruction facilities.
Kholstov said decisions on each of the facilities and their functions after the program was fulfilled would be made two years before the completion of the program.
"The chemical weapons destruction facilities have modern well-developed infrastructures both in industrial and social terms, and these social infrastructures must be made use of in the future," Kholstov said.
