ROSTOV-ON-DON, November 3 (RIA Novosti) - Federal authorities could appoint their own financial managers in some of the economically troubled regions, presidential envoy to the Southern Federal District Dmitry Kozak said Thursday.
"I would like to propose a temporary financial administration as a measure aimed at improving the financial situation in the economically troubled subjects of the Russian Federation," Kozak said at a news conference.
He said the new measure would not affect the work of local authorities, but would only help them to improve financial management.
"I believe these measures are fair," he said. "Those who cannot manage the economy on their own should be provided with assistance."
Kozak said such measures could be introduced in two years in five subjects of the Russian Federation, including the Koryak autonomous region, Ingushetia and Chechnya.
He also said his proposal did not have anything to do with external financial management.
