TBILISI, November 4 (RIA Novosti) - The head of the agriculture committee of the Georgian parliament has been nominated for the post of the refugee minister, after the former minister resigned Friday.
According to the Novosti-Georgia agency, the parliamentary secretary of the Georgian government, Georgy Khuroshvili, confirmed Georgy Kheviashvili's candidacy to the post.
The ex-minister, Eteri Astemirova, announced her resignation Friday morning, citing reorganization of the ministry.
"I resign over the upcoming reform and restructuring of the ministry. I think that my team and I have done a good job, and now it is time to give way to a new young team," she said.
