BAKU, November 5 (RIA Novosti, Gerai Dadashev) - The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission received over 1,500 complaints about violations during the parliamentary election campaign, commission secretary Natik Mamedov said Saturday.
Mamedov said the complaints reported incidents when voters were pressured and when some newspapers and web sites posted election-related materials, which, according to the law, is prohibited 24 hours before the start of the parliamentary election due November 6.
Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry said all conditions for citizens to freely express their will had been created in the country.
A total of 1,544 candidates will run for parliament.
