CHISINAU, November 8 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Novosadyuk) - The Moldovan Supreme Security Council has decided to send a third group of servicemen to Iraq, the republic's presidential press service said Tuesday.
The new group of 11 soldiers, including eight mine engineers, will replace the second contingent that has already returned to Moldova.
Security Council officials said the soldiers had built up a good reputation.
The council made the decision in accordance with a framework agreement on Moldova's participation in NATO's Partnership for Peace program.
Moldova's first contingent to Iraq comprised 24 servicemen. After halving the contingent in 2004, the republic completely withdrew its troops in February 2005.
