MOSCOW, November 8 (RIA Novosti) -The Moscow District Arbitration Court rejected Tuesday an appeal filed by regional energy company Samaraneftegaz against a bill for tax arrears in 2002, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported from the courtroom.
The court upheld the tax claim presented by the Federal Tax Service for 8.7 billion rubles (about $300 million).
Tax authorities accused the company in November 2004 of tax evasion through a number of Yukos affiliates registered in territories with favorable tax regimes.
